Ingredients of Almondigas Recipe
Meat Balls
- 1/2 kilo ground pork or beef
- 1 cup cooked rice
- 1 piece medium onion, chopped
- 1/4 cup All purpose flour
- 2 pc eggs, lightly beaten
- 3/4 tbsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp iodized fine salt
for the Almondigas soup
- 6 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1 medium sized patola (loofah or chinese okra), sliced
- 1 pc medium onion, sliced
- 8 cups of water
- 1 pc chicken bouillon cubes
- 1/4 kg carrots
- 150 grams misua noodles
- 2 stalks green onion, sliced
- 1 pouch (200 grams) tomato sauce
- 3 tbsp fish sauce (patis)
Almondigas Cooking instructions
For the meatballs
- in large bowl combine ingredients for meatballs
- mix thoroughly until all the ingredients are well incorporated
- form every 2 teaspoons of mixture into balls. set aside
For the Soup
- Saute garlic and onion and chicken cube
- add tomato sauce and water
- allow to boil, then add meatballs, carrots, salt and pepper to taste
- cover and simmer for another 20 mins, or until meat is cooked
- add the patola (loofa) and cook for 3 minutes
- add misua, then simmer for 3 minutes
- top with gree onions.
